Privacy Policy for BeeScales.io Diagnostics

BeeScales.io Diagnostics is designed to support beehive monitoring and diagnostics. We respect your privacy and collect only the information necessary for the app to function.

1. Data collected by the app

By default, BeeScales.io Diagnostics does not collect, store, or share any personal data from its users beyond what is necessary for diagnostics.

However, the app includes an optional feature that allows you to send measurement data to our servers:

• Measurements from Bluetooth temperature sensors
• Measurements from Bluetooth BeeScale devices

If you enable this option, the following data may be sent to our servers:

• Measurement values (e.g. weight, temperature, other sensor readings)
• Technical information necessary to associate the measurements with your device or hive (e.g. sensor ID, timestamp)

These measurements are used so that they are available to you in our mobile apps and related BeeScales.io services.

2. Optional use of location data

You can also choose to send measurements together with the current location of your mobile phone. This is entirely optional:

• Location is only collected and sent if you explicitly enable this option in the app.
• Location data is used solely to associate measurements with a geographic position (for example, where the hive is located) for better analysis and display in the app.
• You can disable location sharing at any time in the app or in your device’s operating system settings.

If you do not enable this option, no location data is sent to us.

3. How we use the data

Data sent to our servers (measurements and, if enabled, location) is used only for:

• Displaying and synchronizing your hive measurements in BeeScales.io mobile and web applications
• Diagnostics and improvement of the beehive monitoring services

We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising or profiling.

4. Data storage and sharing

• Data sent to our servers is stored securely and used only for the purposes described in this policy.
• We may use trusted service providers (for example, hosting providers) to process and store data on our behalf, under appropriate data protection agreements.
• We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5. Your choices

You remain in control of the data the app sends:

• You can use BeeScales.io Diagnostics purely locally without sending any data to our servers.
• You can enable or disable:
  • Sending measurements to the server
  • Sending location together with the measurements
